Navy Pier Marina set to break ground in the coming months with a 2025 Launch expected!

NPM Venture LLC, known as Navy Pier Marina (NPM) announced that they have resolved thier dispute with the City of Chicago and have entered into an agreement that will allow the long-awaited Navy Pier Marina to be built. "We will be submitting our final revised plans for issuance of the Harbor Permit, which will allow us to commence construction." This progress sets the stage for the commencement of construction for NPM in the coming year, with plans for the marina's grand opening targeted for early Summer 2025 and will welcome boaters from Chicago, the Great Lakes, Great Loopers, and boating groups and clubs looking for modern mooring facilities in the heart of Chicago!

The Navy Pier Marina aims to cater to a diverse boating community, offering transient mooring services to boaters from Chicago, the Great Lakes region, those navigating the Great Loop, and boating enthusiasts seeking state-of-the-art mooring facilities in downtown Chicago. Besides transient mooring, NPM plans to allocate space for fishing, sailing, and diving charters, along with potential seasonal mooring options for boat clubs and recreational boating businesses. The marina will also provide amenities such as dining options, overnight accommodations by reservation, and entertainment opportunities like mini-golf and access to Navy Pier's attractions.

Randy D. Podolsky, the developer and manager of Navy Pier Marina, expressed enthusiasm for the project's renewed momentum, highlighting the support from Navy Pier and Mayor Brandon Johnson’s administration as crucial. Podolsky emphasized the transformative impact the marina would have on Chicago by bridging the city's core with its iconic Lakefront area, offering new maritime experiences for locals and tourists alike.

Navy Pier Marina's strategic location ensures direct access to Navy Pier, downtown amenities, cultural attractions, and approximately 6,400 feet of broadside mooring capable of accommodating vessels up to 130 feet long. The marina will feature modern amenities such as power and water hookups, pump-out services, a boater’s amenity facility with restrooms, showers, a lounge, and a ship’s store. Additionally, the marina will cater to cyclists with a repair station and create a pet-friendly environment for visitors.

Marilyn Gardner, President and CEO of Navy Pier, Inc., expressed excitement about fulfilling a long-standing goal of adding a public marina facility to Navy Pier, foreseeing it as a valuable addition to the area's attractions. With final approvals pending, Navy Pier Marina anticipates breaking ground soon, adding another gem to Navy Pier's renowned offerings.
