The race committee wisely pushed for 5 races on Saturday in case the wind built on Sunday. And right they were — the 3-CRIB Fiasco which was going on at the same time—finished in record time with a sustained breeze of 25kts and gusts as high as 35kts.

2019 GLIOR RegattaT-10 Class Results

Back on the GLIOR circle, it was almost all Wisconsin on board Hot Sauce in the T-10 class. They would have kept it in single digits for an overall score except for a lone 3rd in the first race. Next was Miami of Ohio sailing Mutiny with a very respectable 12 overall. In 3rd place was Northwestern onboard MASH with a 23 overall score. In fourth place was Purdue onboard Winnebago and fifth place went to Team USA(?) onboard KamiKaze.

2019 GLIOR RegattaJ-105 Class Results

With a total of 10 points In the J-105’s was the Naval Academy on board the Assylum with all 1st’s and two 3rd’s. Coming in right behind Navy was Notre Dame on board Sealark with 13 points overall and only one point behind was the University of Michigan onboard Vytis.

2019 GLIOR RegattaThe scores in the 105 fleet were a bit tighter owing mainly to a smaller fleet so we can show them here was Grand Valley State on Flying Pig in 4th place with 24 points, the University of South Carolina onboard Gangbusters in 5th with 30 points, and the University of Minnesota Duluth in 6th place riding Kinship.

All in all, it was a great event with some good crew recruiting opportunities for both fleets. This event is a great showcase for Chicago sailing in general and the T-10 and J105 fleets in particular.

Corinthian Yacht Club once again came through with a great venue and outstanding race committee work with Nick Zomer and Steve Karstrand bringing it all together.
